A Plan to Build Strong Schools, Strong Communities, and a Strong Future for DGF Students
At Dilworth‑Glyndon‑Felton Public Schools, every student deserves the support, tools, and opportunities to succeed — from strong academic programs and caring student supports to preparation for life after graduation.
Like many Minnesota districts, we face growing financial challenges that put these opportunities at risk. State funding has not kept pace with inflation for more than 20 years, leaving us with about 19% less per student than in 2005 (adjusted for inflation). And because most of our funding comes from the state, there’s little flexibility when costs rise faster than state support.
We’ve already made significant cuts to balance the budget — but we can’t cut our way to success.
That’s why residents will be asked to consider a referendum on November 4, 2025, seeking a 10‑year operating levy to provide $500 per student — about $850,000 annually, adjusted for inflation — to help maintain class sizes and provide the core academics, student services, and career training our students need.
